Are there any limits to Reseller WHM Control Panel?

September 15th, 2010

We provide our resellers with limited WHM (Web hosting Management). These limits help us control what actions the resellers are allowed.

As a reseller, you will have the ability to:

1. Create, delete, and suspend your cPanel accounts.
2. Manage and monitor your sites (password resets).
3. Access to all of your domains’ DNS zones.
4. Ability to configure your own customers support requests through cPanel.
5. Permission to check the server information and status.
6. Customize your hosting and control panel (cPanel, skeleton directory, branding).
7. Ability to change your client domain names and usernames.

Resellers will NOT be able to:

1. Change your own primary username.
2. Access to install SSL certificates.
3. Permission to restart services (http, mail, sql, ssh).
4. Access to Fantastico Admin.
5. Ability to assign IP addresses.
6. Perform automated backups tool.

Why does Unlimited Hosting has more Disk Space than Reseller Hosting?

August 31st, 2010

We offer a reseller hosting plan so you can sell your own hosting packages, remember we do not allow anyone to resell the our shared web hosting plans. Most sites don’t need unlimited disk space, and you can offer other services to your clients – like webdesign or seo.

The technical reason is because of our inode limit. An inode is a count of every file and folder. Shared plans have one primary user that adds content (only one cpanel). Reseller plans, however, can have many users, all adding content and creating more files and folders. The higher the inode count, the higher the file system overhead and more resources are used.

What is Reseller Hosting? Can i run my own hosting company with Reseller Hosting?

August 25th, 2010

Reseller hosting is where you are given a certain amount of disk space and bandwidth just like any regular web hosting plan, but instead of only having one cPanel (control panel) for each domain name, you can create many cpanels thereby hosting many domain names on one reseller account.

Reseller accounts are good for web designers or people who want to start their own hosting companies but don’t want to take on the costs of managing a dedicated server etc. If you are just running multiple websites for your own purpose, you will be better off with a web hosting plan which allows you to hosting many websites under one account, like our Unlimited hosting plan.

Taking Reseller is a better option as compared to renting dedicated servers or virtual private servers to start your own host because it will save you a significant amount of money. If you were to rent dedicated servers, you would also need to pay for things like cPanel, script installers, web page builders and more. This can add up very quickly making your monthly cost go into thousands of rupees.

When looking for a company to provide you with your reseller account, there are a few things you should look for and take into consideration before buying. One very important thing you should always look for when choosing your host is their support. You want them to offer 24/7 support so they can assist you with any problems or issues you have at any time of the day and even on holidays. Twenty-four seven support is offered by most hosts today so it shouldn’t be very hard to find. Keep in mind that you would need to provide support to your own customers and your reseller company will not directly provide support to your customers.
