Pre Sales Questions

Do you support LAMP on your Servers?

August 21st, 2009

Yes, we do support LAMP on our shared servers. The acronym LAMP refers to a solution stack of software, usually free and open source software, used to run dynamic Web sites or servers.

LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

Do you Provide Automatic Backups?

August 20th, 2009

You are responsible for your backups and web content.

We create our own weekly backups on the shared servers, and we can restore from those. However, this is NOT a procedure you should rely on to keep your content safe. Backups made every Sunday; only the newest backups are kept. We make no guarantees about our weekly backups, and we do require a fee of Rs.1000 to restore the backups.

Please note that it is very easy to take a backup from cPanel and we advice all clients to do this on a regular basis to keep your data safe. This is free of cost as you can do this yourself.

Are your servers Unix / Linux, or Windows NT?

August 20th, 2009

All Shared servers run on CentOS Linux (why is Linux hosting better?), which is identical to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Our Shared servers run on Intel Xeon (Harpertown) 2.0 GHz Quad Core Processors with 8 GB of RAM and a 100mbps uplink. A RAID10 drive array is used for instant data mirroring and fast drive access.
