September 8th, 2009

Now that you have a website (e.g www.yourname.com) and you have created an email address (e.g info@yourname.com) which you are giving to your contacts and clients. However to make your life easy, you would like to forward your website email to your hotmail , gmail, yahoo or any other email address which you have always been using.

This is very simple to do, let me show you how.

Start by logging on to your cPanel

1. Find the box, labeled Mail and then click Forwarders.

Email forwarders in cPanel

2. You are now at the Forwarders menu page, here you will have option to forward a single email address or forward all email addresses (domain forwarder). For the purpose of this article, we will choose to forward a single email address.

3. Click on Add Forwarder.
4. You will see a form which will ask you to enter the email you would like to forward and to which email you would like to forward it to.

5. Fill the form with your details and click Add Forwarder.

That’s it! Your website email has not be forwarded to another email. You can do a test by sending an email to your website email address which should be then immediately forwarded to your web based email account.

Note: The mails which are forwarded are not deleted from your website email so you might want to log in every week or so to delete the email so that they do not block your email space.
