Google Plus One Button for your website / blog

June 20th, 2011

Google Plus One button or the Google Like button is finally here. After the failure of Google Buzz, Google has come up with the Plus One button which acts similar to the Facebook Like button except that this might have some hidden SEO goodness in it as well. Google has stated in many places that this plus one button will help in search engine rankings as well. How much of this is true is yet to be seen but it will surely give a tremendous boot to the adoption of this button.

If you want to put the plus one button on your website / blog, it is very simply… you need to put just small pieces of code on your pages and it starts working. You can get the code from this page. http://www.google.com/webmasters/+1/button/index.html

We have implemented this on the top of our wordpress blog, not by using any plugin but by simple code which was generated in above link. Please click on it and like it :)

What does SEO mean?

May 3rd, 2010

SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization. It simply means to optimize your website so that it ranks higher in search engine organic results. By organic we mean the free search results and not the paid ones.

SEO should be done both on site or on page and off site or off page. This means, in order to increase your web ranking, you will have to improve your website in terms of meta tags, content, keywords which is called on site. Getting relevant link to your website from authority website is called off site SEO.

Of course there are many other things under SEO which will be covered in later articles.
