If you are on our Basic or Silver Hosting Plan, you can generate a request by logging on to your customer login section >> My Products & Services >> Your Hosting Account >> Select Account Addons >> and selecting SSH as an addon. An invoice will be auto generated for you.

Note: We allow you to use Jailed SSH on your hosting account to make it easier to develop and debug your files with such text editors as vim and nano (No Daemons or Background processes allowed.)

Note: If you are running an e-commerce website but are doing money transactions with a 3rd party merchant such as PayPal, CCAvenues, Google Checkout etc, then you do NOT need SSL or dedicated IP, since the transactions are happening on 3rd party secure websites.

Note: Dedicated IP can be only ordered once you have an hosting account. A dedicated IP change requires 4 hours to resolve. Your site may appear to be down during that time. You can Flush your computers DNS or power cycle your router to speed this process up. You will NOT need to change your name servers.

Shared servers limit each connecting IP to 30 POP checks per hour. If you go over this, you will likely get a password error indicating your login is incorrect. To fix this, just wait an hour and it will automatically unlock. To prevent this from happening, disable automatic send/receive or set a higher time interval, such as checking once every 10 minutes.

You get a bounce back indicating your email has been tagged as spam due to exceeding a 300 e-mail per hour limit. You will need to wait until the next hour to continue sending emails.

Note: Our servers are not meant for sending out bulk emails and if you plan something like that, we would advice you to opt for other services.

While there are a lot of other hosting companies who would give you free web space, they would place advertising on your website on premium locations (header, sidebar and the footer). Not only this makes your website look ugly and also robs of you of the potential to make money from your website. When you pay for hosting, you have full control over what is displayed on your website.

LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

We create our own weekly backups on the shared servers, and we can restore from those. However, this is NOT a procedure you should rely on to keep your content safe. Backups made every Sunday; only the newest backups are kept. We make no guarantees about our weekly backups, and we do require a fee of Rs.1000 to restore the SpeedHost.in backups.

Please note that it is very easy to take a backup from cPanel and we advice all clients to do this on a regular basis to keep your data safe. This is free of cost as you can do this yourself.
