If you are an Airtel customer then you must have heard about their new service, the Airtel Website Builder. Yes, this is Airtel’s venture into the web hosting business with pre-designed templates.

When I first had a glance, their services look reasonable, only when I looked at it in details did I find out a lot of issues with it. Yes, you get 10,000 templates available to customize for your website but that’s is not the only thing which you should keep in mind when you are looking for a hosting partner.

Domain Name:

Lets’s start with a domain name, Airtel give you a free domain name with all their packages, their base package starts Rs.250/ month with a setup fees of Rs.500 which works out to Rs.3500 for the first year. If you see our Starter Package, it is for just Rs.600/ year and a domain name would not cost you more than Rs.450 which would make it Rs.1050/year. A important things to remember is that Airtel will have the control over your domain name (because you are getting the domain for free), which means that if later down the line you decided to move to a professional host, then you would have a tough time hanging on to your domain name.

Email Accounts:

Airtel does not provide you with your domain email address e.g info@yourname.com while even in our Starter Package we offer 25 email Id’s which you can create from our control panel.

Unlimited Data Transfer + Disk Space:

Airtel offers unlimited bandwidth and hosting space with all their packages but what good is that space when you can have a maximum of 5 pages on the base package. Yes! You heard me right… Airtel just offers 5 pages for the base package which is increased to 20 when you upgrade to a Rs.6000 / year hosting plan (Professional Pack). SpeedHost.in does not offer unlimited plans but even with our Starter Package, which offers 100MB space, you can 100’s of pages built on it.

Monetize your website with Google AdSense:

Airtel does not allow you to use Adsense in their base package, which is just one of the limitations you will face. SpeedHost.in is a Professional host, meaning that when you buy hosting from us, you are free to run any advertising on it as you please… be it Adsense or any other publisher programs.

The above are just a few points I wanted to highlight for you. I would advice everyone who are planning to buy hosting and domain to be careful with which company you choose, your online identity is very important and being with the right hosting partner can help you succeed.
